My name is Bayli Law, I’m a third year Mount Royal University midwifery student.
I have always been fascinated with pregnancy and birth for as long as I can remember. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Mount Royal University in 2014. During this time, I was introduced to midwifery through a course called ‘Women and Health’ and immediately fell in love with the holistic approach to healthcare and philosophies surrounding pregnancy and birth. Midwifery resonates with me because it recognizes that birth is a normal physiological process that carries deep meaning to the individual, their family, and community. I came to the realization that I wanted to devote my life empowering women to birth in a safe and dignified manner. Following graduation, I wasted no time and applied to the Mount Royal University Midwifery program and was accepted in Fall of 2015.
I currently live in Calgary, AB with my fiancé. When not on call, I love to travel. One of my all time favourite adventures involved taking our 1973 Boler on a road trip down the Pacific Coast highway to San Francisco.
I can think of no other profession more noble and gratifying than midwifery. It’s my pleasure and honour to serve families in their journey to parenthood.
