Hello! My name is Clio and I am a fourth-year midwifery student studying at Mount Royal University. I was born and raised in Calgary and love living in Alberta. I am excited to be working at Aurora Midwifery for my final midwifery clerkship. I have always been amazed by the strength and intuition of the human body, especially during the time of pregnancy and birth.
I was always interested in working with women and babies in a healthcare role, however being a nurse or a doctor did not fit with how I wanted to provide care. After having had several opportunities to connect with local midwives and learn about the continuity and informed choice aspects of Canadian midwifery care, I knew that this was the path for me. My grandmother was a midwife and nurse in Norway and her support throughout my path to midwifery has been invaluable. It is an honour to be invited into the lives of birthing people and their support systems during such an important and transitional time. I hope that midwifery care will bring you knowledge, empowerment and confidence throughout your experience of your pregnancy and birth. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, running, cycling, cooking, music, and spending time with my beagle and my friends and family.
