As a third-year student in the Mount Royal Midwifery program I will be with Aurora Midwifery until midway through December. I am so excited to learn from the midwives and clients at Aurora!

I was raised on Vancouver Island and moved to Calgary for the midwifery program at Mount Royal. Midwifery called to me as a profession that walks with families during a life changing
time. I was 11 when I decided I would be a midwife and from then onwards that goal has guided my every step. Since that time my understanding of what midwifery care provides to families has grown. I have had the privilege of witnessing the profound impact of empowering women and families to make informed decisions about their health care. Achieving my goal of becoming a midwife is just over the horizon and I am so appreciative of the midwives and families who are helping me to reach it. Growing up in a small town by the ocean I developed a love for the outdoors. Hiking, camping, kayaking and spending time by the ocean are some of my favourite activities. I also enjoy knitting, sewing and reading good books. I am currently working on a quilt made up of old t-shirts from my time on the high school wrestling team!
