My journey into midwifery began at the age of six. I was always fascinated with pregnancy and birth and thus I strived for a career in medicine. I was accepted into medical school after I finished my first degree in biology and kinesiology but something didn’t feel right. I took a chance and left medical school trying to search for that missing piece, and that is when I found midwifery and have since graduated from the Mount Royal University Bachelor’s of Midwifery program. I love that midwifery care incorporates both the art and science of maternity care and empowers families to make informed decisions regarding their care.

I am passionate on advancing midwifery especially in Alberta, I have recently completed and am publishing research specific to Alberta midwifery and postpartum hemorrhage and look forward to continuing that research.

I have had the pleasure of working in both Calgary and Edmonton midwifery practices and am beyond thrilled to be joining the Aurora family.

In my life outside midwifery, I love running, yoga, reading, knitting, water sports, travelling, volunteering and most of all time with my family!

Being a part of a families’ unique experience is an honor and a privilege. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you and your families and being a part of your journey.
